Education Manager

The Education Manager facilitates student learning experiences as an integral part of the Education team. The Education Manager is primarily responsible for the life cycle of JA Finance Park and Mission Tomorrow, including outreach, administration, resource development, and management procedures to ensure high quality, efficient program implementation. Full benefits include medical/dental/life insurance (premiums paid in full for single coverage), eligibility for retirement plan (401k) after three months, and paid time off. Hybrid work location based on programming needs.

Impact

Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Virginia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing students for their futures by connecting them to their community through engaging, standards-aligned programs supported by community partners. This office is one of about 100 Junior Achievement USA local area offices which collectively serve more than 4.6 million students on an annual basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

Program Facilitation:
o Facilitating or assisting in JA Finance Park the majority of the time, an in-person program with up to 100 students daily (primarily high school)
o Organizing, coordinating, and maintaining program communications
o Innovating to increase efficiency to best meet community needs
o Recruiting and training volunteers and teachers
o Developing, localizing and updating program materials as necessary
o Soliciting, recording, and incorporating program feedback
o Serving as point of contact for annual Mission Tomorrow event hosted in partnership with ChamberRVA and the Community Foundation (volunteer recruitment, volunteer training, school communication, day-of coordination, and other duties related to this program)


Technology Support:
o Maintaining database entries, analyzing data, and creating reports (CRM, Excel, Google Analytics, Power BI, etc.)
o Managing program materials and technology (tablets, Google Sites, etc.)
o Basic troubleshooting
o Editing and producing videos (using Camtasia or similar software) and graphics (Canva)

Administrative duties and other program support as needed

The successful candidate will be task-focused, self-directed, collaborative, and have the ability to learn quickly and develop creative solutions in a team-based environment. They should be able to manage multiple projects at once and have strong communication and organizational skills to maintain program impact and constituent relationships. The right person will be mission-driven, flexible, and innovative to respond to the ever-changing needs of school systems across Central Virginia.

The work schedule is 9-5, Monday through Friday, though hours shift up to two hours earlier based on program needs, typically during the school year. Location is based on program needs.

Qualifications (required)

This position requires a person who can work within a highly collaborative, innovative, solution-driven team, coordinate programmatic initiatives, support program participants, and maintain a positive reputation for Junior Achievement in the local community.

Qualified candidates must have:
o Passion for the mission, education, and inclusion
o Organizational, time management, and planning skills
o Willingness to innovate and adapt to changing needs
o Strong oral and written communication, public speaking, and customer service skills
o Ability to be customer-facing a majority of the time
o Comfort with technology troubleshooting

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: sit, move, communicate, and carry light weights (25-50 pounds). Occasional materials delivery may be required.

o Basic video editing/graphic design
