JA Company Program®

JA Company Program curriculum cover
JA Company Program® empowers high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. Community volunteers and mentors provide real-world guidance and experience to the student-led startup.

Throughout the process of building their own company, students will be able to:

-- Collaborate with team members.
-- Make crucial business decisions.
-- Communicate with multiple stakeholders.
-- Develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.

JA Company Program is part of the JA Entrepreneurship Pathway and is recommended for high school students (Grades 9-12). This learning experience offers flexible implementation options to meet the needs of students and teachers in a variety of use cases.

Participating students have the opportunity to compete in the JA Company of the Year competition, a national competition that provides a platform for them to share their entrepreneurial journey and successes and to compete for national honors.

JA Learning Experiences support national and state standards in reading, mathematics, social studies, and work and career readiness. See below for more information on alignment with national and state standards.
